Carbon Accounting Project

The Midlands Net Zero Hub (MNZH) is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from Midlands based Local Authorities to participate in our Carbon Accounting project. 

This project will deliver effective approaches to identifying scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions. Local Authorities will be enabled to quantify, understand and reduce their full scope of carbon emissions, supporting economic and social benefits, and acceleration towards Net Zero targets.

Successful applicants will work with an independent consultant that is being procured by MNZH to:

• audit all purchase order lines and map these to relevant invoices;
• collate data into packs, providing full audit tables for purchase order line and invoice information, including carbon footprints;
• identify top suppliers and their detailed carbon impact, highlighting organisational ‘hot spots’;
• provide full training of Local Authority staff in navigating and using the data collated whilst creating a high-level executive action plan for the organisation.

EOI submissions close at 11:59 pm on 17 April 2026, with successful applicants notified by 01 May 2026.
