Further details

£160,000 of grant funding is made available by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) to deliver until 30 June 2026 subsidised Clean Energy Introductory training courses through the Regional Skills Pilot Phase 2 – North and North East Lincolnshire programme. This pilot is managed by the Midlands Net Zero Hub (MNZH) on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.

The aim of this project is twofold: to increase capacity of the clean energy sector and minimise the impact of decreasing workforce demand in the carbon intensive sector.

Competition applications for grant funding are welcome from independent training providers, colleges and other higher education organisations.

Majority of the grant available will be allocated to proposals from lead organisations with an office or training facility within the boundaries of North and North East Lincolnshire. The remainder of the grant will be allocated to proposals from lead organisations across England. The number of successful applications will depend on the quality of the proposals received.

The targeted beneficiaries of the competition are workers, who currently live, or have in the last 2 years been employed, in North and North East Lincolnshire, and are interested in moving into roles within clean energy industries.

A useful webinar with application and delivery information and the opportunity to ask questions takes place at 2:00 pm on Thursday 5 February for training providers and colleges interested in applying for grant funding – click this link to register.
