Anaerobic Digestion in the Midlands

Understanding opportunities

A key ambition of the Hub is to assist local authorities across the Midlands to better understand anaerobic digestion (AD), and its crucial role in generating renewable energy and managing the processing of organic wastes. Last year the Hub appointed environmental and sustainability consultancy Walker Resource Management (WRM) to provide strategy development and project feasibility work for AD infrastructure in the region.

As a first stage, WRM produced a briefing report to provide a better understanding of the opportunities available to maximise the potential of AD as part of the Midland’s energy mix and future circular economy approach.

WRM Feasibility Reports

Since then WRM has been working with five local authorities from across the Midlands (Herefordshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Walsall, and Worcestershire) on the development of AD feasibility studies for each area.

Briefing Notes for each of these areas can be downloaded from the links below. WRM has also provided a Summary Report covering all five areas.
