The Midlands Net Zero Hub is working with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero to deliver courses relating to heat networks.
Heat networks are critical technologies for decarbonising heat and the number of networks in England is steadily growing. The 2020 Heat Network Skills Review found that the sector already faced a skills gap which would be exacerbated as the industry grows.
10 approved training providers (listed below) can offer trainees up to £500 towards eligible heat network courses.
Eligibility
You’re eligible for the grant if all of the following are true:
- you’re a heating engineer or work in the heat networks area
- you’re based in England
- you, or the business you work for, have received less than £315,000 in government subsidies over the last 3 years
There may be additional requirements for some of the courses.

- Book your course directly with the training provider
The training provider will apply for the grant on your behalf.
