Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund

SHDF Wave 2.1 

The aim of the  Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) wave 2.1 is to  upgrade a significant amount of the social housing stock currently below Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) band C up to that standard. It will support the installation of energy performance measures in social homes in England, and help:

  • deliver warm, energy efficient homes
  • reduce carbon emissions
  • tackle fuel poverty
  • support green jobs
  • develop the retrofit sector
  • improve the comfort, health and well-being of social housing tenants

Midlands Net Zero Hub Role 

Currently MNZH oversees a consortium which is aiming to retrofit 4,109 properties in the Midlands area up to an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) band C.  We currently have 22 registered providers delivering measures under the SHDF wave 2.1.

Funding for SHDF wave 2.1 is due to finish on 31/3/25 with the delivery of measures carrying on for a further 6 months.
