Free tailored support available for the next phase of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme
The Midlands Net Zero Hub is helping public sector organisations in the region to reach net zero by providing tailored support for the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS). The Hub’s Non-domestic retrofit team build bespoke business cases for project ready to be financed and to access the UK Government funding streams.
The Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme aims to reduce carbon emissions from public sector buildings by 75% by 2037 as set out in the Heat and Building Strategy and the Net Zero Strategy: Build Back Greener.
The Hub assists PSDS applications for a range of organisations in the Midlands, including local authorities, the NHS, blue light services, and educational establishments. We can provide a portfolio assessment, feasibility reports using modelling tools, and decarbonisation audits. Using this full-service approach, public sector organisations can identify the best energy efficiency, clean heat, and renewable energy generation options for their needs.
As the Hub is funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, we offer our technical support to public sector organisations for free.
Our team are experts in:
- Portfolio review – understanding the current assets within your organisation that may be suitable for PSDS funding
- Decarbonisation energy audits – assessing and reporting on the heating system and building fabric of existing buildings. We use this information to offer key recommendations for decarbonisation
- Business case creation – building business cases ready to be financed and / or to access Government funding streams
- Application support – producing a high-quality application, with the aim of giving you the best chance of being successful at securing funding
We ensure that we get to know each of the organisations we are working in detail. This allows us to tailor our offering and make organisations aware of funding schemes that specifically suit their needs. We also provide organisations with behaviour change tactics that can result in reduced carbon emissions.
The support offered by our Non-domestic team for Phase 4 of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme builds on successes in previous rounds of PSDS. For example, in Phase 3 of PSDS, we assisted two college applications, three local authorities, and one NHS Trust to secure funding:
- Nottingham College Adams Building – £661,284
- Nottingham College Highfields – £2,041,256
- Warwick District Council, Royal Spa & Althorpe – £432,659
- Bassetlaw District Council – £182,686
- Bassetlaw District Council – £3,625,567
- East Midlands Ambulance Service – £135,552
Guidance for PSDS Phase 4 is expected soon, so get in touch with the team to find out how they can help you submit a winning PSDS funding bid.
