Principal Building Decarbonisation Project Officer

  • Starting salary is £36,298
  • Fixed term for 18 months
  • Hybrid worker
  • Closing date: 10th November 2023

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree or considerable experience within the energy sector (e.g. Building services or Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Sustainability Advisor / Energy Manager). We would strongly encourage candidates with a Postgraduate degree in topics related to HVAC, photovoltaic/battery design and heat transfer.
  • Be able to carry out energy project assessments and manage the development of specific energy efficiency and smart control projects including site surveys and the development of robust project business cases.
  • Support organisations to understand the opportunities and challenges associated with energy efficiency and smart control and inform policy and strategy making across business, housing, transport and energy networks.
  • Manage energy projects through to completion and ensure conditions of associated funds are met.
  • Support organisations to prepare submissions and bid for funding and finance.
  • Form a key part of the Midlands Net Zero Hub team with responsibility for building relationships across the Midlands
  • This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English, is an essential requirement for the role.
  • A regular DBS check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

Senior Fuel Poverty Officer

  • Starting salary is £32,020
  • Fixed term for 18 months
  • Hybrid worker
  • Closing date: 15th November 2023

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as energy/environmental studies, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Experience in project management and coordination, specifically in the energy sector or related fields.
  • Experience in working with a variety of stakeholders including supply chain and have the ability to collect and analyse data using databases or project management tools. It is also necessary to have experience in writing reports and effectively communicating project progress to stakeholders.
  • A general understanding of energy efficiency, renewable energy, fuel poverty, and low carbon heating solutions is ideal. Knowledgeable of project management principles as well as funding mechanisms or financial models.
  • Excellent project coordination, planning, and organisation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable them to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills that facilitate accurate data collection and analysis.
  • Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software, particularly Microsoft Excel, is essential.
