Heat training grantGrants available for heat network training courses

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn how to design, install, and maintain cutting-edge low-cost, low-carbon heating technologies.

We’re entering year two of the Heat Training Grant in collaboration with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Learners in England can benefit from a grant of up to £500 when you enrol in relevant courses.

10 training providers across England are offering approved heat networks courses:

We’re committed to empowering the next generation of heat network experts, and our approved training providers are ready to guide you on this transformative journey. The courses have been designed to cover a range of topics from foundation courses to operation and maintenance of heat network projects. The courses are also aimed at different roles within a heat network project including those working in local authorities, heating contractors, engineers, and developers.

As of July 2024, nearly 1,500 heat network vouchers have been distributed to learners, and the second year of the scheme offers even more opportunities to bolster your skills in this low-carbon technology. The training courses have been very well received with a 96% satisfaction rate and trainees reported feeling more confident undertaking heat network projects since completing a course.

Heat networks are critical technologies for achieving net zero by 2050, however skills gaps and a lack of courses available have previously limited their potential. The Heat Training Grant aims to address this knowledge gap by giving the supply chain the specialist skills they need to work on heat network projects.
